Busy Bugs! 虫は大忙し！

We are busy fighting coronavirus. Bugs are also busy with their lives.

Cicada shells 抜け殻二つ

On his or her way home 今日は大収穫

I first thought that the drone beetle was resting on a leaf. I was wrong. The beetle was eating breakfast. Tiny caterpillars were also eating breakfast, almost eaten up the leaf!!  

Then, I noticed something brown moving on the pavement and almost stepped on it. It was a cicada shell and an ant carrying it back home like me carrying an eco bag with bananas and tofu I'd got at a convenience store, on my way home. The ant fell into a gap between paving slabs many times, but climbed up, taking the shell out of the gap each time, which literally showed me his or her "NEVER GIVE UP" attitude. I had no time to see the ant taking breakfast home where its family must have been waiting, but am pretty sure that it made it😊

カナブン発見！休んでるのかなと思ったら朝ごはんの真っ最中でした。すぐ横の葉っぱがほぼ食い尽くされていたので「大食いね」と思ったらこれも間違い。なんと毛虫がいっぱい。かなり大食いの毛虫くんたちです。

最後はアリ。セミの抜け殻が地面を動いているので風が吹いているのかと思ったら、一匹のアリが運んでいました。途中何度も何度も細い溝に落ちていましたがそのたびに這い上がり、抜け殻を溝から引き上げていました。最後まで見届けることはできませんでしたが、きっと家族の待つおうちに今日の獲物を持って帰ったことと思います😊！
