Angel's Trumpet (Datura Metel) チョウセンアサガオ（朝鮮朝顔）

This is an angel's trumpet flower (Datura metel). I think it wasn't there yesterday and it was there out of the blue this morning. The angel's trumpet is said to be native to the southern part of the North America and brought into Japan during the Edo period (in the 18th century) as a medicinal plant. Because the flower looks like a morning glory, its Japanese name is Korean morning glory.

朝鮮朝顔（チョウセンアサガオ）です。昨日はなかったのに今日突然現れました。原産地は北米だそうで、日本へは、江戸時代に薬用植物としてもたらされたそうです。アサガオとされていますがアサガオではなくナス科の植物です。
