The blue mistflower (Conoclinium coelestinum) is native to North America and came to Japan in or after the Meiji period (1868-1912), producing blue flowers from July to October. Its Japanese name is "aoiro fujibakama," which translates into "blue fragrant eupatorium," after its color and resemblance to the fragrant eupatorium flower.

アオイロフジバカマ（青色藤袴）です。花期は7月から10月。北米原産で日本には近代以降に来たと言われています。色が青くて花がフジバカマに似ているからこの名が付きました。
