Punica Granatum (Pomegranate) 柘榴（ザクロ）

This is a punica granatum or pomegranate tree and the flowers. I assumed that the pomegranate flower was red as the fruit, so I was surprised to find it so orange!

Then, I noticed something. I know that the fruit symbolizes prosperity and fertility, and have even seen a pomegranate fruit made of agate and ruby at Tokyo National Museum not once or twice but more than three times but never eaten it!! I'm looking forward to autumn when pomegranates produce fruit.

柘榴（ザクロ）の花です。柘榴の花って赤いと思っていたのでオレンジと知って😲 そしてもう一つ。ザクロは豊穣のシンボルということも知っていたし、東京国立博物館では何度も瑪瑙とルビーでできた柘榴を見たこともあるのに、食べたことなかったんです！実は秋に生ります。試します！
