Reeve's spiraea (Spiraea cantoniensis) is native to China but can now be found across Japan. The plant produces pompom-like clusters of snow-white flowers from April to May in Japan, which is why its Japanese name is "kodemari," translating to "small temari ball." Despite its innocent appearance, Reeve's spiraea is hardy or too hardy and invasive. Many websites in Japan advise against planting Reeve's spiraea in the garden.

コデマリ（小手毬）です。中国原産ですが日本全国で見られ、4月から5月に手毬のような白い花で楽しませてくれます。ただ、純真そうな見かけによらず繁殖力がとても強い、というか強すぎるようで、多くのサイトが庭には植えないように注意しています。
