This is the best shot I could get. It's a female Joro spider, I think. I noticed her spider web first several months ago because it's big, about 50 cm in diameter, and was shining beautifully in sunlight (though I couldn't photograph the beauty with my compact camera) and since then, I've come to see the owner, which is about 4 cm from toe to toe. For me, this spider is a bit scary but gorgeous as well.
Hi! I'm Kei Narujima. This is a blog about flowers, plants, and bugs I saw in CENTRAL Tokyo, and sometimes art and Japanese culture that bring you a smile or make you think (or so I hope)!!
Joro Spider (Trichonephila Clavata)?

An Impatient Spider

Because the spider, which was about 3cm in length, was moving up and down so fast and my camera is a digital compact camera, you should understand why the photo is so blurry... At first, I thought it'd found prey but nothing was on the web. Maybe it was doing morning exercise😆.

A Spider🕷 on a Web

Can you see what this is? If not in the first photo, try the second and the third (taken from the left and right sides) to closely see something on this white fluffy thing among green leaves.
Taking photos of bugs (spiders aren't bugs though) is different from taking plant pictures. Capturing the moment is more difficult when taking bug pictures. So when I found the spider, being afraid that it'd be gone soon, I (not a photographer though😁) kept pressing the shutter button no matter how many mosquito bites I got😂!! But it was worthwhile. Next day, the spider was gone.
Spider🕷 is Angry With Me and I With Suga!!
Japanese follows English.
I found this spider🕷 while walking in my neighborhood. Can you find it?
| A spider in the center. Can you see it? |
It was sitting on the web when I found it, and my presence might have upset it. The spider suddenly started running as if to scare me!!
| I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you... 。。 |
So, I slowly backed away, apologizing in my mind for interrupting his or her breakfast....
The spider was mad with me, which makes sense because I did something that upset him, while I am angry with Prime Minister Suga, which also makes sense, because he's been avoiding accountability for his rejections of the appointments of six nominees for the Science Council of Japan. Suga only said that he'd made such a decision from a "comprehensive perspective," but what does the "comprehensive perspective" mean?
I'm mad also because nobody in the recent Liberal Democratic Party administrations has been accountable for their actions or inactions and most Japanese people have approved them by not going to vote. So, maybe I'm wrong to be mad with Suga. My anger should be directed towards those who only tweet complaints about the status quo but do not go to vote....
I've heard many Americans, especially Democrats, being the same, i.e., they express their opposition against the Trump administration but most do not bother to register to vote. I'm angrier with these people than I am with Trump supporters because the people I hate most are those who do nothing but complain to solve the problem...
I pray that Biden will win, which does not necessarily mean I support him. He's too old to lead a nation in the current circumstances, but much less bad than Trump....
