I've listed below the cherry blossoms I've enjoyed (or am going to enjoy) in my neighborhood this spring.

Cherry blossoms are usually described as pink🌸, but not necessarily, like Oshima cherry being often white. The tone of pink also varies from white and very light pink (Oshima cherry) to deep pink (Yoko cherry) and reddish pink (Taiwan cherry). Personally, I love a mixture of white and pink Oshima cherry blossoms most, but any cherry blossoms are special to Japanese people, including myself. They evoke various feelings and emotions from joy and happiness when they are in bloom to a sense of ephemerality when their petals are blowing in the wind...

The Japanese government lifted the state of emergency on March 22, but their handling of the situation has not improved almost at all for the last year, e.g., no made-in-Japan vaccines available and still an insufficient number of PCR tests for not only the original strain but also its variants...

I just hope to be able to go anywhere next year to see other types of cherry blossoms.

The color contrast is so beautiful!
