This is a fiction based on real events.
Ichiro, a Japanese man, was a government official and was transferred every one or two years because of the nature of his business. Because he was so busy, his wife, Noriko, had to pack and unpack things mostly by herself.
She was sick of relocation. Although he was promoted every time he was transferred, she lost everything, i.e., friends, trust and network she had made and built in each community. She got depressed and increasingly grumpy.
One day, she found a handkerchief in one of the pockets of his pants. She didn't recognize it and asked him whose handkerchief it was. But he just laughed away the question, trying to go outside to take a walk. Then, she said as follows:
"It's okay you want to go out, but if you are cheating on me, I will do harakiri at the entrance of the building in which your office is located!"
Ichiro and Noriko have been married for over 50 years. Fortunately, Noriko is still alive.
