Asiatic Dayflower (Commelina Communis) 露草（ツユクサ）

The Asiatic dayflower (Commelina Communis) is native to eastern Asia and can be found across Japan. It produces blue flowers from June to September in Japan, which look to me like a mantis head. The flower has been appreciated in Japan, mentioned in the Man'yōshū (i.e., the oldest extant collection of Japanese poetry in Classical Japanese), compiled sometime after 759 during the Nara period. 

The plant's Japanese name is "tsuyukusa," which translates into "dew plant," because of its brief lifespan, like morning dew.

Water Droplet 水滴

I used to think that you shouldn't/couldn't take a walk in the rain but when I said that to someone, he told me I could still enjoy a walk even in the rain with an umbrella. This didn't make sense to me at that time but it does now. Rain allows you to see something that can't be seen otherwise, like this. It's not a Swarovski diamond but it is as beautiful, isn't it?  

The rainy season hasn't started yet in Tokyo officially, but will soon as in most areas in Japan.

A Glass Bead-Like Water Droplet トンボ玉水滴

It's like a glass bead, isn't it? This is a water droplet on a blueberry flower. The blueberry flower season will soon be over and that's why a water droplet was able to land on this wilting flower, creating such beauty of nature.
