I love their chubbiness. These are bladder campion (Silene vulgaris) flowers. I've photographed them several times but I noticed for the first time that their anthers were beautiful pale yellow green.

Something was bothering me, so I couldn't enjoy a morning walk as much as I did. Then I found these bladder campion (Silene vulgaris) flowers. They flowered in early May, then disappeared and came back! I photographed them and without realizing it, I was smiling.

Which do you like better, the photos taken from the front or side? I like the photos from the side because they clearly show their chubbiness😆!! These are Silene vulgaris or bladder campion, one of my favorite plants!

The name is important. The bladder campion's Japanese name is "Shiratama plant." "Shiratama" are small mochi dumplings used to make traditional Japanese sweets, often served with sweet red bean paste. So, which do you think is better for such a pretty plant, "bladder" or "rice dumpling"? I definitely go for "shiratama rice dumpling"! Imagining many mochi dumplings hanging in the air makes me hungry and smile while thinking of many bladders in the air makes me shudder😱! What do you think?

Plants attract you by many things, e.g., color, smell, or taste. Silene vulgaris or bladder campion attracts me by its flower shape, which is represented in its Japanese name "shiratama plant," meaning "small mochi dumpling plant." The dumplings are used to make traditional Japanese sweets, often served with sweet red bean paste. My mom made fruit punch including shiratama mochi dumplings for my birthday when I was a kid.

  

Next day, I went there again to see the flowers, finding everything around there, not only weeds but also the bladder campion, had all been got rid of and replaced by other plants😂.

This is silene vulgaris, bladder campion or maidenstears. I've fallen in love at first glance with this little white five-petaled flower (each petal is divided into two) with a greenish balloon😊

It took more than two weeks to find out what this flower is, and that was very unusual for me because I usually let it go if I cannot identify a flower in a week, but I couldn't do that for this flower. And finally, two weeks after I had first seen this, I found the name!!
