This is sisyrinchium rosulatum or annual blue-eyed grass in Tokyo National Museum. I've been seeing pink ones in my neighborhood almost everyday recently, but it was the first time to see such beautifully shaped white annual blue-eyed grass flowers (i.e., without any petals missing).
Annual blue-eyed grass ニワゼキショウ |
I've visited Tokyo National Museum five or six times a year for the last few years, and recently something within me has changed. I enjoy what's outside the museum more than what's inside...
Annual blue-eyed grass is small, but it's in the iris family and means "prosperity" and "a wealth of feelings."
