These are mophead hydrangeas. Their bright deep pink/red sepals with a pale blue center (can you see?) are so beautiful.
The color of hydrangeas depends on the pH level of the soil with higher acidity levels resulting in blue flowers and alkaline soil producing pink flowers, which means that the soil there is alkaline. By the way, do you know that the human body is designed to keep the blood pH within a narrow alkaline range? Does it mean that maybe, just maybe a body is buried under these hydrangeas? I didn't know....😱
