Japanese Andromeda (Pieris Japonica)

Japanese follows English.

I thought there were two flowers at first, i.e., one is white (1st photo) and the other red (2nd), but I was wrong. They're both Japanese andromeda (Pieris japonica), i.e., red buds and white blooms. Its Japanese name "Asebi (馬酔木)" means "a tree which makes horses drunk." The plant contains a toxin, which makes horses look drunk. Deer in the Nara Koen park in Nara prefecture don't eat this plant, resulting in too many Japanese andromeda trees left in the park.
