There are a variety of weigelas but this is my favorite, Weigela coraeensis. I love it for the color change from white to pale pink, then to reddish purple. Because of the color change, Weigela coraeensis means "fickleness" in the Japanese floriography.

ウツギにもいろいろありますが、箱根空木が一番好きです。花の色が白から淡いピンク、そして濃い紫に変わります。花言葉が「移り気」なのも納得です。
