Myrica Rubra (Chinese Bayberry)

Japanese follows English.

There were red and black stains on the street that morning. I looked down to find parts where I was able to walk without making my shoes dirty, then questions occurred to me. What are they? Where do they come from? I looked up, finding these myrica rubra or more commonly Chinese bayberries, which look yummy!

People see what they want to see or what is before them. In my case, I only saw where I was heading. Without these scattered berries, I wouldn't have noticed the trees with such pretty berries.

I didn't know the tree either, but several prefectures and municipalities in Japan have designated Chinese bayberry as their prefectural or municipal tree. The flower means "I love only one person." Wow, I definitely need to see the flower next year😁
