Nigella Damascena (Love-In-A-Mist) 黒種草（ニゲラ）

I love nigella damascena, or more commonly devil-in-a-bush or love-in-a-mist for its hairiness😆

I saw many blue nigella flowers last year, but the white ones (below) for the first time. 

Some may wonder why nigella can be "devil-in-a-bush" and "love-in-a-mist" at the same time. The Hutchinson News gave me an answer. "The plant, when green and flowering, is called love-in-a-mist, but when the horned seed pods dry in the autumn, it changes, like Jekyll and Hyde, to the name of devil-in-the-bush." 

But this is not only true of nigella, but geranium carolinianum (Carolina cranesbill), which also has good and evil within them. If you wanna see an angel and a devil within Carolina cranesbill or its Jekyll-to-Hyde change, read this!!

ニゲラです。去年は青のニゲラをたくさん見ましたが、白を見たのは初めて。毛深いので大好きです😁

英語では「love-in-a-mist」、「devil-in-the-bush」とも呼ばれています。愛と悪魔？ どっちなんだ！？と思いますが、ある英語サイトが教えてくれました。「花が咲いているときは『love-in-a-mist』だけど、秋に種ができるとジキルとハイドのように『devil-in-the-bush』になる」｡｡｡
