Passiflora Caerulea (Blue Passionflower) 時計草（トケイソウ）

This is passiflora caerulea or blue passionflower. Last year I was about to believe that the flower was a gingko flower because of the reason you can see in the second to fourth photos....

Blue passionflower トケイソウ

 

A friend of mine, however, told me that blue passionflower, a woody vine, must have climbed up the gingko tree, and one year later, I've been able to see that the flower is really blue passionflower for myself😉! 

In Japan, the plant is called "Clock plant," which well describes what the flower looks like. Good name, isn't it!⏰

時計草（トケイソウ）です。去年危うく銀杏の花と思ってしまうところを、花の師匠にイチョウに絡みついているのではと言われ、それから1年。やっと、銀杏ではなく時計草の花であることをはっきり確かめることができました😉（でも紛らわしい｡｡｡）！
