These are three types of weigela in my neighborhood. I saw weigela coraeensis last year, but didn't know about the other two:
1. Weigela coraeensis
I like this weigela the best because of the glossier color than the other two. Weigela coraeensis changes the color from white to pale pink, then to reddish purple, which is why the flower means "fickleness" in the Japanese floriography.
2. Weigela florida
Weigela florida also has shades of white and pink, but their shades are matte compared to weigela coraeensis.
3. Weigela florida 'variegata'
As the name indicates, the leaves are variegated.

Interestingly, the color of weigela florida and weigela florida 'variegated' also changes from white to pink, but their meaning is not "fickleness," but "rich and beautiful." Why😉?
