"Prunus x Parvifolia Koehne (Winter Cherry)" Holds Store-Closing-Sale?

Japanese follows English.

This is Prunus x parvifolia Koehne, a cherry tree in bloom since October in my neighborhood.

"Winter cherry" in Japanese

It's also called "small leaf cherry" in Japanese

I first noticed these cherry flowers last month. At around that time, I read about Cerasus subhirtella (Miq.) or "October cherry" in Japanese, i.e., cherry in bloom in October, so I assumed they were "October cherry" and forgot about it. However, these cherry trees are still in bloom in mid-November and I also learned on TV that there were several types of cherry trees in bloom from autumn to winter, which got me to google this flower again and I found that these cherry trees in my neighborhood were likely Prunus x parvifolia Koehne or in Japanese "winter cherry" or "small leaf cherry."

These out-of-season cherry blossoms are very pretty but always remind me of store-closing-sale held by some Japanese retailers "anytime." That's their humorous way to attract customers😆, but because of this, I can't pass by these winter cherry trees without chuckling😄
