Netsuke - Halloween 根付 - ハロウィン

I am so busy that I completely forgot about the photo of this seasonal netsuke, "Halloween" by Toun Shishido.

Japan has recently seen many people especially younger people going in Halloween not house-to-house but to Shibuya, a downtown area popular with younger people, in costume, but this year they have reduced by almost 80%... This is good news to reduce Covid-19 infections while being bad, too. The virus has deprived people of an opportunity to have fun... 

So, if you have no place to go, why don't you to go to Tokyo National Museum to see this netsuke. (For a definition of netsuke, see this post.)

東京国立博物館で見た根付「ハロウィン」です。宍戸濤雲作。マカデミアナッツと琥珀からできています。2週間ほど前に撮ったのに忙しくてすっかり忘れてました😅 今年はハロウィーンで渋谷に行く人が減ったそうですね。コロナのせいで楽しみ奪われてしまった方、博物館いかがでしょう?😁
