Netsuke - Halloween 根付 - ハロウィン

This is Halloween, a netsuke by Toun Shishido on display at the Tokyo National Museum.

Recently in Japan, many people—especially the younger generation—have stopped going door-to-door for Halloween. Instead, they gather in costume in Shibuya, a popular downtown youth hub. However, crowd sizes have dropped by nearly 80% this year. While this is great for preventing the spread of viruses, it’s also a shame, as it deprives people of a chance to have fun.

東京国立博物館で見た根付「ハロウィン」です。宍戸濤雲作。マカデミアナッツと琥珀からできています。２週間ほど前に撮ったのに忙しくてすっかり忘れてました😅 今年はハロウィーンで渋谷に行く人が減ったそうですね。コロナのせいで楽しみ奪われてしまった方、博物館いかがでしょう？😁
