Edgeworthia (Paper Bush) ミツマタ（黄瑞香）

This is edgeworthia or paper bush in the neighborhood. I first saw paper bush last year at Ueno Peony Garden in Tokyo, so I went to the garden to see this plant again early January, but although I enjoyed more than 20 types of peonies, wintersweet and Japanese apricot, paper bush was not yet in bloom at that time. Then I happened to find this paper bush in my neighborhood in mid-January.

Paper bush flowers have a sweet fragrance, but it was too early for that. They were still all buds. I need to go there again to smell the flowers!!😉 

Japan has declared its second state of emergency on January 7, and that is due to end on February 7, but experts say that that is too optimistic, saying if the emergency period ends early February, the number of cases should rise immediately again...😱 We need to be more resourceful to enjoy staying at home for two months or longer...

三叉（三椏、ミツマタ）です。去年初めて上野牡丹園で見て大ファンになったので今年も行ったのですが、20種類以上の牡丹、蝋梅、ピンクの梅は楽しめたのにミツマタはまだでした。それから少したって近所で見つけたのがこれです！

でもまだ蕾｡｡｡ 香りを楽しむことはできませんでした。ということでまた行きます！もちろん密を避けて！

緊急事態宣言、本当に2月7日までなのでしょうか。短すぎるという意見も多いですし、そろそろ腹くくった方がいいのでは｡｡｡ もっとステイホームを楽しめるようにしたいと思う今日この頃です。ちなみにミツマタは「黄瑞香」ともいうそうです。
