This is exochorda racemosa or commonly pearlbush. The clear white color is so beautiful!!

The flower is called "Rikyu plum" (although it's not plum) in Japan after Rikyu (1522-1591), one of the most famous and influential tea masters in Japan. That's understandable because the flowers are often used for tea ceremonies. I found, however, no information about the reason why the plant is called "plum" in Japan.
