Tropaeolum Majus (Garden Nasturtium)

Japanese follows English.

This is tropaeolum majus, or more commonly garden nasturtium, Indian cress or monks cress. It had only leaves for a long time, so I was surprised to find one day the round deep green leaves surrounding a bright orange flower.

Deep green leaves are beautiful, too 緑の葉もきれい

The bright orange is eye-catching!

Various spring flowers, e.g., plum, peach, and cherry flowers, have been in bloom these days, but most of them are pink. Seeing flowers in a different color, i.e., orange, was a refreshing change for me!!

All the parts above the ground, including flowers and leaves, are edible. Wow! A a salad with both in it must be so beautiful and tasty😋
