Prunus Lannesiana 'Hisakura''s Mother is Oshima Cherry 一葉桜（イチヨウザクラ）のお母さんは大島桜

This is prunus lannesiana 'Hisakura' or commonly Ichiyo cherry in the Tokyo National Museum. I thought the cherry blossom season had been over, but they were still in bloom with many buds. Ichiyo cherry🌸 is a member of the sato-zakura or sato cherry group. The mother of the group members is all Oshima cherry.

Ichiyo cherry is a member of the sato cherry group 一葉桜は里桜の一種

The sato cherry group, which includes Ichiyo cherry, is known for multi-petaled blossoms and is in full bloom a week or two after Yoshino cherry.

• Oshima cherry (prunus speciosa) - white Oshima; pink Oshima

• Winter (October) cherry (cerasus subhirtella (miq.))
• Nanking cherry (prunus tomentosa)
• Weeping cherry (prunus spachiana)

東京国立博物館の一葉桜（イチヨウザクラ）です。一葉桜は里桜の一種。里桜は大島桜を母親とする桜で八重咲で知られています。桜ももう終わりかなと思っていたのでとっても嬉しかったです。
