憲政記念館の花水木はワシントン市からの贈り物

I love dogwood flowers for their unique shape and matte color and for another reason, i.e., flowering dogwood is a diplomat! The trees in the Parliamentary Museum in Chiyoda ward, Tokyo were donated from Washington, D.C. in return for the cherry trees gifted by Tokyo to the city. The museum was established in 1970 to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the opening of a Japanese parliament. (The museum has a garden with azalea and cherry flowers, too!)

Dogwood flowers, no matter where they bloom, are unique and beautiful😊!!

花水木です。色といい形といいとってもユニーク。でも花水木って外交上手だったってことはご存知でしょうか。先日行った憲政記念館の花水木は、東京がワシントン市に贈った桜の木のお礼にワシントン市から寄贈されました。憲政記念館は、日本の議会開設80年を記念して1970年に設立された美術館です。（ツツジと桜もきれいです！）

憲政記念館、近所、どこで咲いていても、ハナズキはとても個性的かつ美しい花だと思います😊
