Aesculus × Carnea (Red Horse-Chestnut)

Japanese follows English.

A week ago, I had to go through Ginza, one of the most renowned commercial districts in Tokyo, and unexpectedly found such a beautiful flower high up on a tree. This is aesculus x carnea or red horse-chestnut.

Aesculus x carnea, or red horse-chestnut

This flower has solved a question I had for a long time, i.e., why this street is the "Marronnier Street." Many "marronnier" trees or in English chestnut trees have been planted along the street!

In Japan, four prefectures including Tokyo have been under the state of emergency since April 23 AGAIN, i.e., the third time. I will see the flowers at the earliest next April....😂
