Wild strawberries are everywhere in a neighborhood park. Naturally I've been seeing the flowers for the last month, but I didn't notice the berries growing until recently. I love cooking and eating, so I googled and found they are edible😋!!
But who owns the strawberries? Who should I ask if I can pick them? Tokyo or the ward where the public park is located? It's too much hassle, so I gave up eating them, but it's sad to just see strawberries ripen and rot. Also, what a waste from the "mottainai" spirit perspective!
Wild strawberries always remind me of a Japanese picture book I read a long time ago, entitled "The Little Old Lady in the Strawberry Patch (Ichigo batake no chiisana obaasan)," making me imagine the little old lady holding a brush and painting strawberries red! Maybe these strawberries aren't red yet because she now has to stay home due to Covid-19😉

近所の公園の野イチゴが一つだけ色づいてました。野イチゴ食べられるんですね。試してみたい😋のですが、公園のイチゴなんでいろいろ決まりがありそうなのでやめておきます。（もったいない！）
野イチゴを見るたびに「いちごばたけのちいさなおばあさん」がイチゴをせっせと赤く塗っている様子を想像してしまいます。熟してないのはおばあさんが在宅勤務しなきゃいけなくなったからかもしれませんね😉！
