Two Yoshino weeping cherry trees ヨシノシダレが2本

The museum has only two Yoshino weeping trees, but you can enjoy more than one thousand such trees in Yoshino, Nara prefecture. I'd travelled to Nara once or twice every year until the pandemic started, but never been to Yoshino town, which is famous for about 200 types of cherry trees, including this weeping one.

The weeping cherry trees in the museum made me resolved to go there to see cherry blossoms and eat kuzu mochi, i.e., sweet Japanese arrowroot flour dumplings!!😋

I've seen the following cherry blossoms so far this year. Please enjoy the differences between them!!

Oshima cherry (prunus speciosa) - white Oshima; pink Oshima

Winter (October) cherry (cerasus subhirtella (miq.))

Nanking cherry (prunus tomentosa)
