A few days ago, I was excited to find kerria japonica or Japanese kerria, but today I was more excited because I found beside the ordinary Japanese kerria, kerria japonica ‘Variegata’ and kerria japonica 'Pleniflora.'

I've walked around the area many times, but didn't notice the presence of such conspicuously beautiful yellow flowers at all. I'm sick of Covid-19, but the virus has definitely opened my eyes to things that I didn't know existed.
In Japan, kerria japonica's golden yellow is often compared to oval gold coins used in the Edo period, which is understandable considering the color which makes us feel happy😁💰

遠目にずっとレンギョウだと思ってたんです。ある日近づいて「あれっ」、そしてこれが山吹だと知りました。しかもいろいろ。黄色と斑入りの一重、黄色と斑入りの八重咲きで計4種類ありました。
この場所も何度も通ってるのに全然気づきませんでした。ある意味コロナのおかげで気付かされました。山吹といえば「お前も悪よの～💰」を思い出したのですが、この黄色、確かに幸せ色です😁
