Camphor trees (Camphora officinarum) are native to Asia, including Japan, so can be found across Japan. The tree produces tiny cream flowers in May and June.
The biggest camphor tree in Japan is in Kamou town, Aira city, Kagoshima prefecture. Its trunk girth is 24.2m and the tree has been designated as a natural monument. Because of its gigantic size, it's advised against growing camphor trees in home gardens.

楠（クスノキ）です。アジア原産で日本でもあちこちで見かけます。ちっちゃくてかわいい花を付けます。クスノキは全国にありますが、鹿児島県姶良市蒲生町の「蒲生のクス」が日本最大といわれ、幹周りは24.2メートルもあるそうです。天然記念物に指定されています。
非常に大きくなることから庭木には推奨されていません。尤もです。
