They are toad lilies (Tricyrtis formosana). While this plant is typically said to flower from August to September, I’ve come to believe that toad lilies actually bloom year-round. I have seen them in May, as well as in December and September.
The plant is named after spots on a toad's skin and its preference for shady, moist places like toads. In Japan, however, the toad lily is called '
hototogisu,' which translates into 'lesser cuckoo.' This name also comes from the plant's spots, which look like the chest plumage of the bird to Japanese people. Perception varies.

タイワンホトトギス（台湾杜鵑草）です。8月から9月が花期と言われていますが、一年中咲いているのではないでしょうか。5月、9月、そして12月にも見かけたことがあります。ホトトギスの名は、斑点が杜鵑（鳥の杜鵑）の胸の斑点と似ているから付けられました。胸の斑点は油の模様染みにも見えるから油点草（ユテンソウ）とも呼ばれます。でも英語では「toad lily」、カエルユリ。カエルの模様に似ているから。人の印象ってそれぞれです。
